Objective
The Isotope Development Scientist will oversee and integrate cross-functional activities that support generator development, technology transfer for scale-up operations, process optimization, data analysis, and support for regulatory documentation across multiple external and internal teams. This role ensures sustained readiness of isotope production and facilitates seamless coordination between operations, quality, and external partners to advance the development pipeline toward clinical and commercial readiness.

The Isotope Development Scientist will oversee and integrate cross-functional activities that support generator development, technology transfer for scale-up operations, process optimization, data analysis, and support for regulatory documentation across multiple external and internal teams. This role ensures sustained readiness of isotope production and facilitates seamless coordination between operations, quality, and external partners to advance the development pipeline toward clinical and commercial readiness.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate and manage isotope development projects across internal and external teams.
- Support the scale-up and transfer of radiochemical processes into manufacturing environments.
- Develop, organize, and analyze technical data to inform process improvements and regulatory filings.
- Oversee documentation practices, including SOPs, batch records, experimental protocols, and regulatory support documents.
- Facilitate technical communication between internal stakeholders and external vendors or contract manufacturers.
- Identify and implement process improvements in isotope production, radiochemical separation, and automation.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP standards, radiation safety practices, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support facility planning and equipment integration for radioisotope development and production.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives, including Phase III readiness, QA/QC processes, and supply chain coordination.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Radiochemistry, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in chemical separation processes, radiopharmaceutical development, process engineering, or regulatory operations.
- Experience interfacing with cross-functional stakeholders and external vendors.
Knowledge / Skills / Ability
- Strong understanding of radiochemical processes, metrology, and separation chemistry.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to compile technical and regulatory documentation.
- Familiarity with cGMP, FDA, NRC, and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environment.
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office platforms
- This position must be able to lift ≥ 50 lbs.
- Travel up to 20% may be required.
